The incumbent state representative for Burnet County won back her seat with a resounding show of support from the electorate, according to the results of the Nov. 5 election.
State Rep. Ellen Troxclair (HD-19) received over 70% of the vote in her district.
HD-19 covers the counties of Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie, Kendall and a portion of Travis.
The day after the election, unofficial results showed Troxclair, Republican, won with 85,306 votes (70.8%), handily defeating her Democratic opponent Dwain Handley, who received 30,891 votes (25.6%).
To offer guidance and an assessment of Republican victories throughout the state, Burnet County Republican Women (BCRW) has invited Troxclair to offer a post-election analysis and upcoming legislative agenda.
The meeting is on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 402 East Jackson Street in Burnet.
The buffet opens at 11:15 a.m., and the meeting begins at 11:30 a.m.
“We are honoring our Veterans by providing a complimentary lunch with a reservation,” BCRW officials stated in a press release.
Reservations are requested for the meeting, which is $20 per person.

That’s the mission of Wreaths Across America. National Wreaths Across America Day will be held this year on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.
“Our members will join with the more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to Remember, Honor, and Teach at more than 4,600 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.”
