This year – 2024 – the 33rd annual Toy Drive for the Highland Lakes Christmas Is for Kids has already begun.
Applications are available now through Dec. 9. at the Department of Human Services (DHS) office at 1406 Resource Parkway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and The Helping Center or the Community Resource Center from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.,
Monday thru Friday, both at 1016 Broadway in Marble Falls.
The organization serves the southern part of Burnet County outlined by the Marble Falls Independent School District boundaries minus the Highland Lakes Elementary area.
Families who live in the Granite Shoals area of MFISD, whose children would attend Highland Lakes Elementary, will need to fill out a form for the Granite Shoals Christmas Outreach Program.
All addresses will be verified and families can only sign up for one toy drive.
Remember that on pick-up day, Tuesday, Dec. 17, applicants are required to bring: A birth certificate for each child over 6 months of age
• Most recent semester’s report card for each child of school age (or be able to show it from the website)
• A driver’s license or Texas-issued ID card for the parent of the child
• Rent or utility receipt showing the same address in our service area.
The addresses on all of these documents must match.
The group is responsible for distributing many generous local donations and is dedicated to supporting the children and their families who live in the local community.
The form requires a physical address (no P.O. boxes) as well as a good phone number in case there are specific ques tions about the gift.
