State to stock tasty trout in nearby rivers

On Nov. 27 marks the beginning of a winter tradition as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department begins stocking thousands of easy-to-catch, tasty rainbow trout in ponds, lakes and rivers across the state.

Any age or skill level can enjoy the thrill of fishing for rainbows.

TPWD plans to stock 342,373 rainbow trout in Texas from Nov. 27 through March 9. Most trout stocking occurs between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
