Burnet County accepts 800-acre land donation

The Burnet County Commissioners Court accepted through a probated will the donation of about 800 acres from a local family. The land is comprised of four tracts near Texas 29 and FM 2341, valued at $17.2 million, out of the Hattie and Laymond Parks Ranch and the Estate of Donna Parks and Doris Parks Gonzales.

The land is comprised of four tracts near Texas 29 and FM 2341, valued at $17.2 million, out of the Hattie and Laymond Parks Ranch and the Estate of Donna Parks and Doris Parks Gonzales.

The heirs donated the property to the county to ensure it would not be developed for commercial or residential development, County Judge James Oakley explained.
