Local cities band to monitor, influence state legislation

Horseshoe Bay is at the forefront of an effort to get state legislators’ attention to the needs of small Texas cities.

Mayor Elsie Thurman has formed the Hill Country Leadership Coalition, including mayors, county judges, city managers and other leaders from nearby small towns.

The idea is to let legislators know that much legislation is not a “one size fits all” type, and that what might work for a large city is bad for a small one.
