“All you need is a willingness to help others and a teachable spirit,” according to Don Barlow.
Barlow, a local coordinator with Texas Ramp Project (TRP), referenced what it takes to volunteer for a group which helps build ramps for mobility- challenged residents.
TRP uses volunteer labor which cuts the costs to much less than hiring retail construction workers Project participants can acquire the lumber and build a ramp for less than $1,000 and change the life of a home-bound person.
