It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Ann (Helge) Russell, at the age of 77, on January 3, 2025.

Cynthia was born on January 10, 1947, in Austin, Texas to Paul E and Katherine A (James) Helge.

She met her husband, George Russell in high school. She and George had a wonderful marriage and partnership for over 57 years. They had a son, Jerrod, and a daughter, Erica.

Cynthia was known for her love of God and family. She enjoyed art, music, playing Mah Jongg or “42” with her friends and supporting the community. She was proud to be a Native Texan and a Mayflower descendent. Cynthia loved her cats, going to the beach, fishing, or just watching the pelicans fly. In her career, she touched so many young lives, as she served as a children’s choir coordinator, mother’s day out director, and as a preschool children’s minister.

She simply was a beautiful person. Her smile would light up the whole room. She always cared so deeply for the people around her, and her kindness made an impact on so many people.

A Celebration of her life will be held on February 3, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Church of Horseshoe Bay. Reception to follow; Preceded in joining the Lord were her mother and father; Paul and Katherine Helge and her sister Anna J.
