Former judge issues invite to coffee

Special to The Highlander The news over the weekend from Burnet County is that Judge Gil Jones has officially applied for the Burnet County Judge position. Although the Burnet County commissioners will have the final vote, Judge Jones is planning a few casual coffees with community members to give him the opportunity to meet with the public and express his thoughts and vision for Burnet County and to answer questions and hear what Burnet County folks think.

Judge Jones is planning a few casual coffees with community members to give him the opportunity to interact with the public and answer questions.

The free public gatherings are Thursday, Jan. 23, Thursday, Feb 6, and Thursday, Feb. 13, at 206 Ave. H, Suite 102 in Marble Falls from 9 -10 a.m. He will also be at the AgriLife Building, 607 N. Vanderveer in Burnet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb 6, and Thursday, Feb. 13.

In his invitation to coffee, Judge Jones notes his deep knowledge of Burnet County and its needs, his extensive experience in county operations, finance, law, and his commitment to fairness, as well as his time spent as a planner, problem- solver, and peacemaker make him an exceptional candidate for this critical role in our community.

He believes his expertise makes him the right choice for this position until a new county judge is elected in 2026.
