A city leader says she is adamant about wanting to help the Horseshoe Bay Property Owners Association and the Horseshoe Bay Resort work out their differences.

Horseshoe Bay Mayor Elsie Thurman said in her monthly message for January that getting the two parties together would be part of her goals for the coming year.

The resort sued the POA in October, claiming the POA had reneged on payments under a contract to maintain landscaping. POA board members countered that while the association had withheld funds invoiced by the resort, it did so because the requested money was more than the original contract between the two organizations called for.
