Granite Shoals sets city election date

Three of five city council places for the city of Granite Shoals as well as the mayor’s chair will come up for election in May according to an ordinance passed Tuesday by the council. Ron Munos now occupies the mayoral position.

Three of five city council places for the city of Granite Shoals as well as the mayor’s chair will come up for election in May according to an ordinance passed Tuesday by the council.

Ron Munos now occupies the mayoral position. Also up will be Place 1 (currently Brian Edwards), Place 3 (Judy Salvaggio) and Place 5 (Michael Berg). Each will be for twoyear terms.

Potential candidates can file applications to be on the ballot at the city secretary’s office, 2221 N. Phillips Ranch Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Applications must be turned in at the city secretary’s office before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14. Applications must be on a form approved in the Texas Election Code.
