Saturday, Jan. 25, The Highland Lakes Service League will hold its annual Chuck Wagon Chow Down Dinner and Auction fundraising event at 5:30 p.m. at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes in Burnet. Ticketed guests will enjoy a barbecue dinner provided by Pok-e-Jo’s with live music by Billy Scott.
The Chuck Wagon Chow Down supports needs throughout Burnet and Llano counties. Funds raised at the event will be used to provide scholarships for adult women, award grants to non-profit organizations, host a Special Needs Christmas Party and provide monetary assistance to community- based needs.
Highlighted activities include live and silent auctions, card games for a lady’s and a man’s prize, rodeo raffles, a wine pull and a vacation raffle.

Chance vacation raffle includes choice destinations to Lake Tahoe, Tuscany, Costa Rica, or Portugal. The chances are limited to 100 at $100 each. You need not to be present to win, and the trip location can be decided within 30 days of the auction date. The winner has 24 months to book the trip. Exciting live auction items include trips to Cabo, Dublin, and Tuscany and a choice of a Royal Caribbean Cruise to Alaska or Canada and New England.
Other items are skydiving experience for 2, FixDoor Habu Garage Door, diamond fourprong 0.50 carat tennis bracelet and an assortment of guns, which include a lady’s handgun with conceal and carry handbag, Benelli Super Black Eagle Shot Gun, and a Henry Wildlife Edition Rifle.
