The Faith Academy of Marble Falls boys basketball team lost to Waco Live Oak Classical 66-50 Jan. 18 after scorching San Antonio Lutheran 81-44.

From the start against Lutheran, the Flames (1410, 3-1), who are ranked No. 1 in the Class 3A Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools poll by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, were ready as illustrated by a 3-pointer from allstate sophomore guard Will Slyker on the opening possession. Though the Mustangs answered with a 3-pointer on their first possession, that’s as close as they got.
