The Horseshoe Bay Police Department has joined Burnet and Marble Falls in trading in Sig Sauer P320 sidearms for a different brand.
That model has come under fire for what are called “involuntary discharges” – the gun goes off without a trigger pull. One Marble Falls officer was wounded last year when his sidearm discharged in its holster. An investigation determined the officer was not at fault.
Horseshoe Bay Police Chief Jason Graham said his department hasn’t been the victim of such an incident but he said he’s following other departments in pre-empting the opportunity.
