District judges to question county judge applicants

The Burnet County Commissioners Court recently agreed on a format related to a pair of public forums they plan to hold to assist their selection of a new county commissioners court judge.

Pct. 1 Commissioner Jim Luther Jr., Pct. 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle, Pct. 3 Commissioner Chad Collier and Pct. 4 Commissioner Joe Don Dockery agreed on the format during the Jan. 28 regular commissioners court meeting in the Burnet County Courthouse, 220 S. Pierce St.

The commissioners plan to hold the forums to help pick a successor to the former county judge, James Oakley, who resigned Jan. 2.
