A recent land purchase by the State of Texas will translate into thousands of acres of park space in Burnet County.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced Jan. 27 the acquisition of 2,020 acres within the northwest boundary of the county.

Located cross the Colorado River from Colorado Bend State Park, the property also includes two miles of waterfront. Reports indicate the purchase from a willing seller topped $35 million.
