The Lower Colorado River Authority correspondence released recently to a senior civil engineer indicates LCRA is exercising caution related to its possible approval of a permit for construction of a proposed rock crusher quarry north of Burnet.

Ortiz is a founding member of Texans for Responsible Aggregate Mining, a group that has assisted and still encourages local residents to oppose the proposed construction of a new quarry by Construction Partners (perhaps better known as Asphalt Inc. LLC) in Hoover Valley at 3221 FM 3509.
