A dilemma over a potential county judge selection is brewing for Burnet County commissioners.
On Feb. 11, commissioners failed to reach a decision to choose among three candidates for the position. The court was tasked with replacing James Oakley, who resigned in December.
“We’re in a situation where there’s a deadlock; it’s up to them to decide what to do, so those commissioners need to get back together and make some decisions,” Burnet County Attorney Eddie Arredondo said. “There’s nothing outlined in law that says how you go about doing it.
