County judge hang up raises prospect of tie-breaker

Burnet County commissioners have yet to indicate whether the court could reach a decision on a county judge selection, harkening several theories about the potential outcome.

On Feb. 11, commissioners failed to reach a decision to choose among three candidates for the position. The court was tasked with replacing James Oakley, who resigned in December.

After two motions failed for lack of a majority to select from three candidates, commissioners may have to consider a new process.
