The upcoming Burnet County Republican runoff includes one race between two candidates for Burnet County commissioner for precinct 3 – Chad Collier and Homer D. Will.
Collier is a local businessman. Will serves on the Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District as the Pct. 3 director, also as the Burnet County Pct. 4 foreman.
“I have lived in Burnet County for over 30 years,” Collier told The Highlander. “I went to Bertram Elementary and graduated from Burnet High School. I have been a business owner for 24 years in the telecommunications construction sector. I’ve managed employees, coordinated sub-contractors and negotiated contracts with corporations and local and federal entities; completed projects with the Texas Department of Transportation, military bases and local school districts. Working with those entities required setting and adhering to very strict budgets and guidelines. Also, I have extensive knowledge and experience with planning for future growth and implementing plans. Owning a construction business for over half of my life - working in the field as well as the office - has taught me to always plan ahead and lead by example. Maintaining and improving the roads and bridges with upgraded surfaces, signage and visibility issues will be a main priority. With over 30 years in the construction field, I have the experience to achieve. I am the only candidate in the (Pct. 3) race that did not accept any campaign contributions. I planned and budgeted for my campaign. I am committed to everyone in Burnet County as well as Pct. 3. I will operate with transparency, open communication and be available at all times, whether by phone or email or in person."
