The Marble Falls High School track and field teams competed at the Taylor Ducks Relays March 8 and encountered more than the competition.

Wind gusts were as high as 25 mph.

“The 25 mph winds were definitely a factor at our meet, especially in the final 100 meters of every race where runners had to push through a strong headwind,” Lady Mustangs head coach Brenda Gonzalez said. “Some athletes handled it well, while others found it more challenging. However, the key takeaway is that they controlled what they could — effort and execution. They didn’t let the conditions dictate their performances, and I’m proud of the way they competed despite the challenge.”
