Doris Fae Wall Phillips, born December 16, 1927, in Spicewood, Texas to Robert and Inez Naumann Wall, passed away on March 6, 2025. She grew up at Spicewood and spent the last years of her life living in her childhood home.

Doris attended school at Spicewood and graduated from Marble Falls High School as valedictorian of the class of 1945. After receiving a B.B.A. degree from The University of Texas in 1949, she began her career as a business teacher in Mason, Texas. After teaching at Bertram and Shiner, she returned to Marble Falls High School where she taught for 25 years, retiring in 1988 after 38 years as a business teacher. It always pleased her to be invited to class reunions where she could learn what had become of her students or to go into a local business and see one of her students working there.

On June 2, 1951, A. R. “Todd” Phillips and Doris were married in Austin, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1965.

In 1969 Doris earned a M.Ed. degree from The University of Texas. She also had taken courses at the University of Colorado, The University of Houston, The University of Wyoming, California State University, L.A., and Florida International University.

Doris enjoyed doing various kinds of needlework, reading, and traveling. She had seen all 50 states and toured in 26 countries.

Surviving Doris are two nephews and their families; Craig and his children Hannah, Jeremy, and Ian of Hollis, New Hampshire, and Mark and Zoey, Lola, and Ellie of San Diego, California. She is also survived by many Wall and Naumann relatives and other friends.

Doris had been a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International since 1966 and served as president of its local chapter in 1976-1978. Upon her retirement she joined the Highland Lakes Retired Teachers Association, serving as its treasurer for many years. She attended Spicewood Baptist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. Online condolences may be made at: www. clementswilcoxfuneralhome. com
