Officials laud maintenance crew for historic jail devotion

More than 20 local officials, community boosters and guests gathered recently to give overdue thanks and show appreciation for twelve Burnet County Maintenance Department men and women employees who recently renovated and restored the Old County Jail.

More than 20 local officials, community boosters and guests gathered recently to give overdue thanks and show appreciation for twelve Burnet County Maintenance Department men and women employees who recently renovated and restored the Old County Jail.

County Judge Bryan Wilson, Pct. 1 Commissioner Jim Luther Jr., County Historical Commission members Rachel Bryson, Lela G. Goar, Polly Krenek and County Tourism Director Blair Manning thanked several county maintenance department personnel during a brief gathering March 26 at the old jail at 109 South Pierce St., County maintenance crew members at the get-together included James Bailey, Travis Bunting, Cindy Easly, Richard Gumbert, Laura Hart, Skyler Hein, Patrick Kelly, Michael Lato, Zach Reagor, Layla Seals, Kim Wadman and Steve Windburn.

From 2019 to 2022, during the worst period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the maintenance personnel buffed wood floors, rearranged and refurbished
