Pedestrian dies weeks after collision

A 29-year-old female has succumbed to injuries after she was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 281 in Marble Falls.

Officials confirmed that Lily “Griffin” Sommer of Marble Falls was pronounced dead April 23 at an Austin area medical facility.

According to the Marble Falls Police Department, the incident unfolded on April 3 at 8:21 p.m. at the intersection of Third Street.

Sommer reportedly attempted to cross the the highway, the report stated.

A southbound passenger car driven by a Horseshoe Bay resident was traveling southbound through a green traffic light when he struck the victim, the report continued.

An officer at a nearby traffic stop arrived at the scene within seconds, officials say. Sommer, who was initially transported to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, died three weeks later.

No charges are pending against the motorist.
