The city of Marble Falls is hosting a groundbreaking celebration for the new city reclamation plant. The event is at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, at 1951 Colt. Circle in Marble Falls.

Funding of about $86 million for the new wastewater treatment plant is expected to flow mostly from federal and state coffers, including the U.S. Clear Water State Revolving Fund and the Texas Water Development Board, also from the city of Marble Falls utility capital improvement bond transactions.

After its completion, officials anticipate the new plant to double the Marble Falls wastewater treatment capacity from 1.5 to 3 million gallons per day.
