The Hill Country Humane Society hosted its 2025 Wags to Riches Gala on Saturday night, April 26, welcoming more than 400 guests for an evening of inspiration, community, and fun – all in support of local animals in need.

The event celebrated the shelter’s third consecutive year as a no-kill facility, proudly maintaining a remarkable 97% save rate – a rare achievement for an open-intake shelter serving a rural region.

Executive Director Paighton Corley shared powerful stories of resilience, including the shelter’s response to last year’s distemper outbreak, where the team not only saved 95% of affected dogs but also launched targeted vaccination clinics, administering over 5,000 free vaccines to protect pets across the community.
