Friends of Inks Lake State Park (FOIL) and the Highland Lakes Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists participated in the Birding Classic May 3 at the Wildlife Viewing Station (bird blind) at Inks Lake State Park.
The group hopes to promote interest and education about birding and the fun location at Inks with events such as the Big Sit, the month-long, state-wide Birding Classic.
Visitors have another opportunity to participate in an upcoming event at Inks Lake State Park. Go to the Park Store May 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bird-watchers should bring a camp chair, water, etc., but binoculars are provided. They do ask that children be at least 8 years old. The cost is $7 per person or free with a state park pass. Help spot and ID as many birds as possible throughout the day.
