At its annual volunteer appreciation event Sunday, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church honored parishioners who volunteer for its many activities and gave special recognition to newcomers to the parish.

Some 130 parishioners attended the Cinco de Mayo-themed dinner, catered by Jardin Corona restaurant in Marble Falls. The event took place at St. Paul’s Family Life Center, which is adjacent to the church at 201 Dalton Circle in Horseshoe Bay.

Given special recognition were newcomers D.J. Yows, Flora Jones, and Madison Howard. The three were confirmed as Catholics and received Holy Communion for the first time April 19, at St. Paul’s Holy Saturday Easter Vigil service.
