The Rotary Club of Marble Falls is sponsoring their fundraiser, a Race from the Recliner to the Couch.
It will be held Saturday, May 17, starting at 11 a.m. at 800 Third Street in historic downtown Marble Falls.
This isn’t your typical community run. In fact, running is not allowed. The Rotary Club of Marble Falls’ 0.5K is for those who prefer a more relaxed approach to racing.
Whether you’re here to share a laugh, embrace the fun, or simply support a great cause, your participating helps the Rotary Club continue making a difference in the community and beyond.
The 0.5K race levels include: Sofa Sprinter – conquer all 1,640 feet like a champion; VIP (Very Idle Participant) – Skip the entire course and go straight to the finish line, because walking 500 steps is simply too much; Pajama Jogger – race virtually from anywhere on your couch (because 11 a.m. is just too early); Bed Head Snoozers – racers ages 4-12.
Perks for participants include: Race Swag, T-Shirt, Finisher’s Award, Race Bib, Bumper Sticker, and a Koozie.
The Rotarians hope to make this the most legendary (and easiest) race of the year.
It starts at 11 a.m. with a carb load pit stop for mid-race fuel and adult beverages for participants 21+.
The donations are $35 per participant ($65 for VIPs); kids 4-12 are $10 and 0-3 are free.
Registration and sponsorships are available at www. marblefallrotary.org (right side of webpage). Choice from several levels of sponsorship – Couch Potato Champion, Recliner Royalty, Armchair Athlete, Siesta Superstar and lazy Day Leader.
