Four members of the Granite Shoals City Council were sworn in Tuesday at the council’s regular meeting, leaving the dais exactly where it was before.
Mayor Ron Munos was sworn in for another term along with council members returning to their seats after the May 3 city election.
Munos, the only opposed candidate in the May 3 election, won re-election with 67% of the vote.
“I was very pleased, happy to be leading the city for another two years. I’m happy with the team which is all around us, the city manager, council and staff,” Munos told The Highlander.
“Our goal is to continue to unite the city and become a more welcoming and friendly place to do business,” he added. “We’re moving forward. “Big things are in the future, and I’m very optimistic about it.”
Incumbents Brian Edward, Judy Salvaggio and Michael Berg were unopposed for places 1, 3 and 5 respectively.
Council unanimously re-elected Steve Hougen mayor pro-tem; Hougen said he was “honored” at the selection.
He’s serving his final term on the council under term limits.
The swearing-in followed a required move to canvass, or approve, the election results.
