Horseshoe Bay mayor: City must embrace development

The Horseshoe Bay mayor has gone on a campaign to educate her constituents about city development. Writing in her May column, Mayor Elsie Thurman said some residents have questioned why the city council continues to approve developments when the Hill Country water supply seems to be dwindling.

Writing in her May column, Mayor Elsie Thurman said some residents have questioned why the city council continues to approve developments when the Hill Country water supply seems to be dwindling.

In fact, the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has placed Horseshoe Bay and neighboring communities under Stage 2 water restrictions. That permits residents to water lawns only one day a week.
