Llano County ponders energy plan

Llano County commissioners are considering a move they say could bring better loan conditions to developers as well as better economic development to the county. It’a called Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) and it involves a contract between the county and a nonprofit state agency which will then assess the project’s water- and energy-saving infrastructure to learn how much can be saved over the life of the equipment.

It’a called Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) and it involves a contract between the county and a nonprofit state agency which will then assess the project’s water- and energy-saving infrastructure to learn how much can be saved over the life of the equipment.

That estimated savings can then be used to buy back a loan to the developer, allowing for a more efficient development.
