Horseshoe Bay city council members approved an ordinance Tuesday setting $9.9 million worth of certificates of obligation, clearing the way for work on city water and wastewater and street improvements. The vote was unanimous.
Among the projects the COs will pay for are expansion of the west water treatment plant, additional lift stations, water lines, and seal coating and possible rebuilding of all the streets west of Bay West Boulevard, including Bay West itself. The water treatment plant’s engineering has already started and is being paid for with other funds; it’s a multi-year project. Other smaller projects will also be funded by the certificates of obligation.
The council had heard the certificate proposal from city staff earlier but at the time the cost to the city in interest wasn’t known.
