Earon was raised in the oil fields of west Texas during and after the “Depression”.
He attended schools in Wink, Levelland, Denver City and Seagraves, Texas. He quit school his senior year and enlisted in the Army Air Corp. He served 4 years - 2 years in Japan with the occupation forces. He was recalled by the Air Force when the Korean Conflict broke out.
Discharged in 1953, he returned to Odessa, Texas and worked for Misco-United Supply Co. as a field salesman. He met and married his sweetheart, Vanette, in 1955 and together they continued their lives together for 70 years. They settled down in Denver City, Texas, in 1963 and made it their home until they moved to Highland Haven in 2018.
Earon was the store manager for Bovaird Supply Company for 15 years. He also worked for Harman Hardware and Kay & Komany until retiring in 1998.
Earon is survived by his wife, Vanetta, son Russell Dean and daughter-in-law Gay of Granite Shoals, 2 granddaughters; Kalynda (Jesus) Palacios of Bertram, Texas, and Nicole (Andrew) Hamanns of Copeland, Texas, 2 great granddaughters; Natalie Palacios and Evelyn Palacios; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cochran of Robstown, Texas; nephews Mickey (Patsy) Mickelson of Whitewright, Texas, Mark Mickelson of Tucson, Arizona and Wayne Cochran of Robstown, Texas; nieces Jennifer (Scott) Groza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Carol (Frank) Haney of White Pine, Tennessee, Leslie (Tom) Ruppert of McKinney, Texas and Valarie (Jeff) Covington of Plano, Texas and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by infant twin daughters; Leah and Lisa, father; Claude R. Cochran, mother; Stella Phillips Cochran, a brother; Eldon Dean Cochran, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Loye and Jack Harris, brother and sisterin- law Jim and Alarak Russell.
Visitation will be held June 5, 2025 from 5 - 7 pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls, Texas. Funeral service will be held June 6, 2025, at 11:00 am, at First Methodist Church, Marble Falls. Burial will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park, Burnet, Texas.
