Water watchdog keeps eye on legislation

Starting in October 2023, CTWC began meeting and working with members of the Central Texas delegation, both House and Senate, to raise awareness about our region’s water challenges and advocate for meaningful solutions.

Starting in October 2023, CTWC began meeting and working with members of the Central Texas delegation, both House and Senate, to raise awareness about our region’s water challenges and advocate for meaningful solutions.

We developed 14 legislative proposals aimed at protecting our water supply—five of which became bills filed this session.

Four were referred to committees, and two, HB 517 and HB 3995, received hearings and were unanimously voted out of committee.
