The Buchanan Art Gallery will offer as a community service project a free Youth Art Academy for children 10 to 13 years old.
The five days of class will be held from Monday to Friday, June 23 to 27 from 10 a.m. to noon. An adult supervisor will drop off children at 10 a.m and pick them back up at noon.
The class will include instruction in an array of media, a different medium every day: Monday is for clay, Tuesday will be mosaic, Wednesday watercolor, Thursday acrylic and Friday is rock painting.
Bottled water will be provided and students are allowed to bring their own snacks.
Pre-registration is required – first come, first
served. Enrollment is limited to 18 students. Tuition and supplies are provided by the gallery.
The gallery is located at 17534 E. Texas 29 in Buchanan Dam.
