Horseshoe Bay avoids precedent of on-site crushers

Horseshoe Bay city council members at their June 17 meeting took what the mayor pro-tem called two unusual steps: They held a hearing on a matter that the applicant had withdrawn, and they allowed speakers to talk in both the public comments and the agenda item sections of the meeting.

Mayor Pro-Tem Jeff Jones presided in Mayor Elsie Thurman’s absence.

At issue was whether Summit Rock LLC, developers of the first phase of Atten Hill at Summit Rock, could have a temporary rock crushing operation as a part of the development’s construction.
