Matthew Anz of Horseshoe Bay South visited the shoreline of Lake Marble Falls on July 5 to survey how high the water came over the bank.
His wife Shawna Lopez, daughter Olivia Manthei traipsed through the sand on the manmade beach scooping up live minnows and shad to place back into the lake.
“My family’s been in Spicewood for the last 100 years. This happens once every seven or eight years or so. The water comes down low; then it comes back up really quick,” Anz said. “Hurricane Harvey (August 2017) was the last time it came up about this high. It’s definitely that it came up so fast and so quick. It’s definitely historical – with those girls that are missing (on the Guadalupe River).”
