Rainwater inflows filling Highland Lakes reservoirs

to the Highland Lakes have caused rising and swift-moving currents in the wake of Independence Day flash flooding and dam operations.

The two reservoirs – lakes Buchanan and Travis – rose several feet in a short period of time, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority. By July 8, LCRA reported

Lake Buchanan at 80% full.
