Girl Scouts help clean up Inks Lake State Park

Girl Scouts help clean up Inks Lake State Park
Girl Scout volunteers like Delilah Helfrich and Lilly Everett made a big difference helping to remove debris left at Inks Lake State Park by the Fourth of July rains and flooding.

Karen Stewart, Girl Scout volunteer, Master Naturalist and president of Friends of Inks Lake, was contacted by Kimi Halliburton to ask if her Girl Scouts from Troop 40016 and Troop 40061 could come to Inks Lake State Park to help clear out the debris left by the flooding during Independence Day weekend..

They did come and spent half a day cleaning up Devil’s Water Hole, a popular swimming hole at the park.

After that, they helped in Burnet, at Hamilton Park and on Oak Street.
