Free legal aid for flood survivors

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) is rolling up its sleeves to help Central Texas recover from the July floods. The non-profit law firm is on the ground in Kerr, Burnet, and Williamson counties, continuing its 55-year tradition of providing legal assistance to those who need it most.

Covering 68 counties across Southwest and Central Texas, TRLA’s legal services span more than 45 civil law areas – including disaster response, housing, benefits, and more. Even with about 23,000 Texans helped each year, nearly 2.6 million more of our neighbors are left without access to free legal services due to limited resources.

“This disparity becomes especially apparent during disasters,” said TRLA’s Executive Director Robert Doggett. “Legal aid bridges the gap to ensure survivors don’t face barriers when accessing services and can receive the support needed to rebuild their lives.”
