Marble Falls City Council recently conducted the first reading of the tax rate and budget it plans to implement during Fiscal Year (FY) 2026, set to begin Oct. 1.
During the Aug. 19 regular meeting in city hall, the council declared it intends to levy a property tax rate of .5350 per $100 of valuation during FY 2025 to support city services and the Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation.
Finance Director Wade Nickerson pointed out the FY 2026 tax rate equals the current tax rate. Furthermore, no election is required, since the rate of .5350 falls below the voter-approval rate of .5721.
