Granite Shoals residents who want to discuss the city’s proposed new tax rate can do that tonight at the city council’s scheduled hearings on the tax rate and budget. The date was set by council members at their regular meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The proposed tax rate is 54.24 cents per $100 property valuation, a jump from the current rate of 54.17 cents. However, council members were quick to point out during the meeting that the rate is only a proposal and not a final rate – nor even a suggestion, really.
