Burnet County Republican Women (BCRW) and guests will pay tribute to First Responders during their Sept 11, 2025, luncheon meeting.

Included in the 9/11 tribute is special guest speaker, Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel Jungus Jordan, who will share the history of the Texas National Guard 2nd Battalion 131st Field Artillery secretly deployed to the Philippines in November 1941 – before Pearl Harbor was attacked Dec 7, 1941.

The destination of the 131st changed and their whereabouts became a mystery for most of the rest of the War in the Pacific, earning them the name “The Lost Battalion.”
