County judge explains pay raise plans

Burnet County commissioners are mulling a proposal to consider pay increases for several elected officials during Fiscal Year 2026, set to begin Oct. 1.

By law, the commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the proposed salary increases 9:30 a.m. today, Sept. 9, in the Burnet County Courthouse, second floor, 220 South Pierce St.

Elected officials slated for pay raises include the county attorney, sheriff, county judge, district clerk, county clerk, tax assessor/collector, county treasurer and each one of the four county commissioners, justices of the peace and constables.
