We Remember
The annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony was held at noon Sept. 11, at the Rotary Memorial Park.
This year marked the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks carried out against our nation on Sept. 11, 2001.
The Rotary Club of Marble Falls sponsors the event.
The program included a bagpipe musical prelude by Mark Clark and a welcome by Robert Pahmiyer, Marble Falls Rotary Club president.
Burnet County Emergency Manage- ment Coordinator Derek Marchio served as the master of ceremony; and John Brantley, chaplain, gave the invocation.
Granite Shoals Fire Lt. David Short conducted the ringing of the bell to memorialize those who died during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Marble Falls Fire Rescue served as honor guard and posted the colors.
Burnet County Judge Bryan Wilson and City of Marble Falls Mayor John Packer offered proclamations. David Short with Granite Shoals Fire Rescue presented the History of the Bell.
Marble Falls assistant chief Trisha Ratliff conducted the reading of the End of Watch (EOW) Honorees; Clark played “Amazing Grace” on the bag pipes at the end of the ceremony; and Cody Logan, chaplain, offered the closing prayer.
