The Highland Arts Guild in Marble Falls is hosting a free demonstration of transparent watercolor techniques (including techniques for watercolor pumpkins) by local Hill Country artist Evelyn Acosta-Cone Oct. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Acosta-Cone was born in Puerto Rico but has lived in the United States most of her life. She earned a bachelor’s in education, foreign language, and art from the University of Miami and California State University.

After retiring from the corporate world, she began to seriously pursue art and discovered her passion was watercolor. Mentored by artists like Aldo Favilli and Ruby Agnew Martin, she refined her skills and found success. Now settled in Marble Falls, she draws inspiration every day from the beauty of the Hill Country.
