Horseshoe Bay keeps tax rate, adopts budget

Horseshoe Bay wrapped up Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Tuesday, Sept. 16, with the city council keeping the tax rate at 25.775 cents per $100 property valuation.

But councilors conceded that the Llano and Burnet counties appraisal districts had increased property values, raising the average home value from this year’s $664,692 to $705,115 for the coming year. That’s a hike of 6.08 percent, adding an estimated $108.84 to the average homeowner’s tax bill, according to city figures.

The property taxes break down to 19.433 cents for maintenance and operations and 7.342 cents for interest and sinking, the funds the city uses to pay off debts.
