The Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District (CTGCD) board approved a water watch dog’s proposal to conduct a “hydro-geologic characterization” of the Sycamore Aquifer which serves the Spicewood area.

The Texas State University Meadows Center for Water and the Environment will conduct the study.

“This is the third phase of continued scientific study for Krause Springs, Little Cyprus Creek and the Sycamore layer of the Trinity Aquifer in and around Spicewood,” District General Manager Mitchell Sodek told board members during the Oct. 28 meeting.
