The Rudy Davalos Horseshoe Bay Sports Club will host its annual banquet on Thursday, Nov. 20, when Mack Brown -- former national championship head coach at the University of Texas and most recently at North Carolina -- will spend an evening with the sports club members and guests.
Brown’s highly decorated coaching career includes an overall record of 288-255-2, a remarkable 14 bowl victories, and successful head coaching stops at Appalachian State, Tulane, North Carolina (twice), and Texas.
He was also the athletics director at Tulane while serving as head football coach. In addition to the 2005 national title, Brown won the Big 12 twice (2005, 2009), six Big 12 South titles, and the 2022 ACC Coastal Division title.
