The Highland Lakes Quilt Guild (HLQG) invites readers to its Nov. 19 program, “Painting with Scraps,” featuring the talented Allie McCathren, an artist and quilter who works in two art forms, acrylic paints and watercolors as well fabric and thread.
McCathren applies improv techniques and color flow constructing her quilts with fabric scraps and overlapping textures. She offers workshops and online classes, teaching unique methods for making quilted tiles, portraits and tactile quilts.
